Carbide tungsten steel knives

I am looking for someone that is using carbide tungsten steel knives and
sharpens them on a Shandon Autosharp knife sharpener.
We are cutting GMA plastic blocks and have been noticing that the knives
seem to nick easily. I am concerned that our angle is off or we are having
other problems with the sharpening. How many times can you sharpen a
carbide tungsten on the Autosharp before it is necessary to recondition?
Any input would be welcomed.
