If you have a suspected Bartonella hensalae or B. quintana case you can
send it to the CDC for immuno-testing.

Send blocks, with full history, to:

Chief, Infectious Disease Pathology
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
MS-G32
1600 Clifton Rd.
Atlanta, GA 30333
USA
email: SXZ1@cdc.gov

Hope this helps.

I have sent cases of suspected Cat-Scratch disease to Dr. Kyung-Whan Min
=
at the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK for detection of
Bartonella =
henselae. He uses a Warthin Starry histochemical stain as well as an =
immunostain for this purpose. I believe he uses a pAb reactive with =
Bartonella organisms. To my knowledge, commercially available
antibodies =
to Bartonella are not available. Please call (or e-mail) me if you want
=
his telephone number.
