water bath temp

this may be a trivial question , but do any of you actually keep records
of your water bath temps?  I've been recording these temps (taken before
begining to section) for YEARS and never been asked to produce the
records during inspection!  I'm not sure if I am creating overkill with
record keeping or is this something that is spelled out in any regs.?
It seems rather useless, because we generally adjust the temp as needed
for particular specimens...
