For microwaving without loosing the fluid, I set a plastic (not plastic,
but you know what I mean) coplin jar in a plastic baggie with just a small
amount of the baggie open at the top for the steam to escape.  Works like a
charm.  If you feel you need to keep the temperature constant, you can put
the probe into the coplin jar and close the baggie around the probe.  It
will have enough opening to let steam out and the probe will control the
