When the cytotechnologist goes on a cat scan guided biopsy, she makes 2 
touch preps from the biopsy.  the cytology touch preps are evaluated for 
adequacy and the biopsy is evaluated the next day.  In this case, the 
patient is charged 88161 for the cytology specimen and 88305 for the 
surgical biopsy specimen.  Billing is telling us that 88161 needs a 59 
modifier.
Is this how other labs are billing this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
