RE: proficiency testing

From:"Gamble,Marilyn S"

Not proficiency testing....but the CAP & NSH added a Histology Quality Improvement Program to the CAP survey list. It is probably too late to participate this year, but here is the information (from the CAP website)

histoqipA new educational Anatomic Pathology Program is now available, HistoQIP. Jointly sponsored by the NSH (National Society of Histotechnology) and CAP, HistoQIP is designed to improve the preparation of your histology slides and ensure accurate patient diagnosis.

*	Submit slides from your laboratory to assess the performance of your histologists' technique in fixation, tissue processing and embedding, microtomy, staining and cover-slipping

*	Receive educational critiques, peer comparison data, information regarding best performing procedures and techniques, and performance benchmarking data to improve the preparation of your histology slides
