RE: Glass coverslippers

From:Mike Konopka

Diane, we've used the Leica coverslipper for 4 years, it handles about 800 slides per day, anything mechanical will breakdown and ours has on occasions. The down time is minimal (we get good service from Leica) and to be honest we wouldn't want to be without it.

We are considering replacing our Sakura tape coverslipper with glass because
some of our older slides are beginning to show signs of the tape lifting.
I'd appreciate all comments concerning glass coverslippers. Are they
practical for high volume labs? Do they need much attention when in use?
How does it affect tissue placement on slides? Thanks in advance,
