RE: Automated IHC

From:"Breckenridge, Richard A."

We primarily use the DAKO Autostainers. However, we also have a Ventana
Benchmark that stains very nicely as well. For us, it's a matter of finances
and volume. visit our website at www2.utmb.edu/pps and follow the link to
"special procedures" for some actual pics of our work using the DAKO
stainer.

Our lab is preparing a presentation for a capital budget request. We want to
get an immunohistochemistry special stainer. So far, we have checked out
Ventana and Artisan. However, Artisan is no longer owned by Cytologix and is
no longer an IHC stainer. It is only a special stainer. So I was wonder what
other kinds other labs use? Also, labs that have Ventana, how are they
doing? Is the Ventana a good answer to an automated IHC lab?
