Meconium in placental membranes

From:=?iso-8859-1?q?Steve=20Machin=20UK?=

Hi
Has anyone been able to get a positive staining reaction for meconium
in placental membranes?
We have tried the usual bile stains and they are negative, Fouchet,
Stein and Gmelin.
My understanding is the the pigment in meconium is bilirubin, the
meconium, seen in macrophages, comes up negative but our controls are
positive.

Best Wishes
