Hello,

We are using cresyl violet acetate to stain 40-50micron (frozen and 
paraffin) brain sections.  Literature is showing various pHs, 
concentrations, and staining times of cresyl violet solution and we 
are unsure of which works best.  We are staining for the sexually 
dimorphic nucleus.  Any help or a staining protocol would be 
appreciated!
