cameras, computers

From:"Hoye, Glenda F. (Fka Hood)" <ghoye@iupui.edu>

Hello.
I'm in the midst of researching digital cameras for microscopic photography,
and the computerization requirements for the software to handle the
digitized pictures. I'm sure there are many of you who have experience that
I could learn from, so if you would be so kind to contact me off Histonet, I
would really appreciate it.

Please keep in mind that I'm fairly 'illiterate' as far as computer lingo
goes, but am in the mood to gladly learn new things above and beyond simple
word processing! My husband and I are looking at purchasing a laptop
(notebook) also, so any input from you 'gurus' will be helpful.

At present I'm doing photomicrography with a 35 mm camera mounted on my
Olympus CH2 scope. I get wonderful prints and slides, but I'd like to
advance a little. Just don't know what to look for.

Vendors' responses are welcome, along with those of colleagues, as I will
need to consider costs anyway.

Thanks in advance.
