Paula,
 We had the same problem not that long ago...we are affiliated with a research lab that has a cryostat too and they were kind enough to let us keep them on standby in case we needed to use it in a pinch.  Is there anyone in your world who has a similar set up ?

Hello Everyone!

What does anyone do when a back-up cryostat fails? I am a little concerned 
about our frozen area.  Our primary cryostat has been out for major repairs 
and the back-up is very old.  Thanks for any suggestions!  (And no- we 
cannot purchase a new one!)
