analysis of pulmonary edema

To histonetters!

Does anybody know if there is a histological technique
that will allow me to sterologically quantitate water
content within the alveolus (ie. % air-filled vs. %
liquid-filled). I assume the lung tissue would need to
be snap frozen at post-mortem, but I have no idea how
to process / stain the tissue. Any help would be
greatly appeciated.
