Because you really have nothing to lose I would rehydrate the brain in
normal saline.  I really don't know how long would be a good amount of time.
It is dependant on the size of the tissue and the extent of the dehydration.
Once the brain is sufficiently rehydrated proceed as usual.  I must add that
I have not done this.
