If I am happy with my current wax, why should I use my valuable
time to test his product for him? How much is he willing to pay me (real
folding money, not product) to be a tester for his product?

I might try a block or two, if and when I had the time. I would not
let the rep use me as a reference ("Scott over at ABC lab is using our
wax now") Again, if I was happy with the wax I was using, why change?
Because the rep. says it's better than XYZ wax? If things don't work
out, whose butt will be in hot water?
As you can see, I am skeptical of sales pitches!
