I have to agree with Gayle, Davidson's gives the best fix, especially if
you are interested in retinal detail. The lens also is very manageable
after Davidson's, as opposed to hard rock crunchy after Bouins, and
tends to distort the rest of the architecture less.

Due to concerns regarding Bouin's, our lab is currently revising
procedures
for fixation of eyes collected from domestic livestock and pet animals.
Would anyone in the list have suggestions for alternative fixatives?
