In the past I have had to participate in several insurance audits and every
auditor has required a specific result on the pathology report for each
special stain which was charged. Without a result for each test, the charge
was denied. So, whatever our regulatory agencies may or may not impose on us,
if the stain isn't dictated and resulted individually in the path report, we
may not get paid!
