Formaldehyde fumes

Perhaps we should consider what formaldehyde is used for. It's a fixative,
right? It's used to kill cells, some of them remarkably like the cells in our
respiratory systems. I'm glad to hear of so many histologists living into a
healthy old age, but those of us who saw C.F.A. Culling in his last days, when
he was dying of lung cancer, are decidedly cautious around formaldehyde and the
other toxic materials that histologists must use.
