I found the original paper that I used years ago to make Rhodanile blue
(MacConnail & Gurr, Irish J. Med. Sci. 1964: 243-250). I don't know what other
people use it for, but I needed it to distinguish epithelium from connective
tissue. I had to modify it to work with Epon sections, but it was still
quite effective.
