This is essentially the same carbohydrate technique used as the final
step in demonstrating phosphorylase and branching enzyme activity in
muscles. The problem with most standard mounting techniques is rapid
fading. Two techniques often used are glycerine jelly with iodine
added or blot dry (without rinsing iodine out) and then coverslip
with a xylene or toluene based medium.
