I never knew that there was such a scientific distinction between
"haematoxylin" and hematoxylin". I thought it was simply new world
spelling.
I will send you a paper on my attempts to make haematoxylin (I think)
from scratch.
Commercial production though is, I am told, still a commercial
"secret", but I can say it begins with three foot (1 metre) lengths of
the hardwood. And there is only one supplier, who has a contract with
the worlds only producer (except me, that is. Unfortunately, I do not
possess the prefix "commercial).
