Patti,
We have used the following fixative for blood smears and cytospins prior to
immunostaining:

		FAM

Acetone 19 ml
Methanol 19 ml
Formalin, 40% 1 ml

Fix air dried smears or cytospins for 60 - 90 seconds. Shake off excess
fixative and transfer slides to buffer for 5 minutes.

Subject: Fixation of Smears

Hi, all!

Not sure if this can be done, but here goes. We want to make a blood smear
onto a slide and then fix it ASAP. Can this be done without the smeared
cells falling off the slide? Thanks!
