Giemsa stain for malaria

Does anybody have a good recipe for Giemsa stain for malaria?
We are experiencing a lot of precipitate after multiple filtrations...
At the moment we use the alcohol-glycerol method, pH 7.5 buffer, and powder
stain from Sigma.
Is there a trick about dissolving the dye that we may be missing?
