Hello Histonetters,

Many of you recommended that my graduate student use luxol fast blue
methods to
stain myelin. So this is what he plans to do. However, the graduate student
used DiI to mark the electrode track in this experiment, and it is soluble in
the alcolhols used in the luxol blue methods. Currently, he plans to stain
every other section with the luxol blue protocol so that he still has a record
of the electrode track. Unfortunately, this is an animal that has been
repeatedly poked, so he can't simply reply on tissue damage to identify the
electrode track. Are there any alternate methods for identifying the myelin?
For instance, are any of the myelin-specific antibodies reliable for this
application? He's looking at monkey.
