I have really liked using the Image Analysis software from NIH called
NIH Image. The software is free and can be downloaded from the internet
at:
http://rsb.info.nih.gov/nih-image/
The biggest draw-back I understand is that it has been designed for a
Macintosh system, although I have heard that they have improved their
version for the PC since I last looked at it.
I really am not familear with the type of staining you are doing (missed
the e-mails I guess, I'm a newbie here) but I have found the software is
very flexable and the manual fairly useful.
Good Luck!
