   the  quality is A-#1 priority, so 0.3 mm/sec is the magic number fo= r
   me. I  do  know  that  my ultra-microtome  is extremely sensiti= ve to
   distant  vibrations, anywhere in the lab. In fact, I  hold my bre= ath
   (not  exhale  at  all) when the block slowly makes its way through the
   bla= de. That actually makes a difference, although it may be hard for
   some to b= elieve.
