Dear Sarah,

I must respectfully disagree.

I use Hoechst 33342 diluted to 0.1ug/ml for 10 minutes on a daily 
basis with various aqueous mountants including Pro-Long Gold (I agree 
with Gayle that it is a good one), Slow Fade, Vectashield, 
Fluormount-G, Gelmount etc etc. Works like a charm, never a problem, 
gorgeous counterstain
