I want to echo the comments of those who said that snap freezing tissue for
frozen sectioning minimizes ice crystal artifact and preserves the
morphology  The Gentle Jane Snap Freezer not only freezes the tissue at
liquid nitrogen temperature but employs a heat extractor, chilled to LN2
temperature ,-196Deg, for rapid thermal exchange. Low temperature and
thermal exchange best preserves cellular detail!
