RE: Veterinary antibodies...

From:DTMan

Dear Jim, We do some work for a Vet lab and have used S100, SMA, CD3 from Dako on dogs with good results. We think CD79a works as well but have had only 1 positive, (we don't have a positive canine control). CD3 and CD79a from Cell Marque have also been used. David.

Here are a couple of saved emails that might be useful,

Although we are doing our IHC mostly on human tissue, we occasionally help
out our colleagues in vet path. We found clone MNF116 (available from
various vendors, e.g. Dako M0821) to work very nicely in dogs. MNF116 is a
'broad-spectrum' anti-CK mAb that recognizes CKs 5, 6, 8, 17 and possibly
19. CKs 5 and 17 are basic CKs of squamous, CK 8 is typical for non-squamous
epithelia. Alternatively you can try Dako's polyclonal rb-a-Keratin, which
is another broad-spectrum Ab reactive in dogs. Good luck!
