Re: Sakura vs Leica Coverslippers

Re: Sakura vs Leica Coverslippers I have only had experience with the Sakura tape coverslipper, but thought I’d offer my opinion. We have had very little trouble with the instrument. We take photos of all of our cases, and the tape has not been a problem . We do use glass coverslips on our FISH cases. Also, we have not experienced any problem with tape coming off stored slides. Maybe the location of storage and climate is an issue. It is certainly damp enough here in Seattle (every cloud has a silver lining). But I do agree with the opinion stated before, that it is best to demo various units for yourself.

That being said, I would like to ask for others opinions on automatic H&E stainers. We are getting ready to do a couple of demos. We are a little different than a routine histo lab. The main job of the stainer
will not be H&E. The main use will be to deparaffinize large batches of slides for immunos, and then to counterstain these slides at the end of the day. I appreciate all info on this subject. Thanks.
