Re: C.L. Sturkey Disposable Blades
Salvacion,
I use C.L. Sturkey's low profile Silver and Gold edge blades. The Silver
cut equally to AccuEdge and are much cheaper in price! The ribbons may have
a slightly different appearance (coated with a different material??) then
AccuEdge, but the stained sections are of equal or better quality.
The Gold blades work well for decalcified samples, and I have found that
I can sections more skin bx's with the Gold. I think the Gold coated blades
hold up better when sectioning hard (keratinized, calcified, ect) samples.
Check out their web site at www.sturkey.com They have a very helpful
customer relations staff and will send you free samples. If you have any
questons, please email me personally at htn@histology.net
