Fixation of PGA/PLLA

Urgent! I need advice on what I can use for fixation of a cervical plate made of polyglycolic acid and polylactic acid and the vertebral body.  I am looking at tissue response to the plate.  Normally, I use 10% buffered formalin to fix tissue before alcohol dehydration and plastic embedding for undecalcified blocks. However, I have been told that formalin could react unfavorably with PGA or PLLA.

Thanks,
