RE: What paraffin does your lab use?

From:"Gladney, Diane C"

We use Surgipath Infiltration Medium in the processor and Surgipath
Embedding Medium in the embedding unit. We run a mix of specimen types each
day ranging from tiny GI biopsies to larger specimens. We are a small
hospital that also provides anatomical pathology services to another
military hospital as well as the several clinics in our own hospital. Our
case load is not high enough to justify running 2 processors for different
types of specimens. I have tried other paraffins over the years and have
found these 2 paraffins are best suited for our purposes.

Hope this helps.
