Dear Annette,
Our accountants use Peachtree and it doesn't translate
well to production. For purchasing we use an Access
database that one of our programers set up for us. We
also use a kanban system. When an item is low we pull
a red card that has the supplier, catalog #, and
quantity on it so that the puchasing department knows
exactly what I wnat. We have runners who collect these
cards from the different departments every hour. For
special order items we have a simple form we hand to
purchasing and they do the rest.
