Dear Jennifer
Any tissue with vessels will stain nicely, your retrieval method may be 
lifting the tissue off the slide, was the skin baked long enough? We use CD34 
in our lab with skin on a Ventana system and use protease 1 for 8 min with no 
tissue loss.
