RE: Motorized Microtomes

From:bonnie mcmahill <bjmcm@mail.com>

We use 9 motorized microtomes at 2 facilites (4 Leicas, 4 Microms, 1
Olympus). All have foot pedal operation, and some have hand controls. We
haven't experienced any injuries (cut-type) that don't occur on the manual
microtomes. A few techs are not as comfortable with the foot control, so
opt to use the hand control. The injuries we don't have any more are the
repetitive motion type - carpal tunnel and tendonitis!!

Hi,
Would like to know if anyone has experienced injuries using a motorized
microtome. Anyone using a foot switch?
