Hello Histonetters,
Those offended by stupid questions-delete NOW. OK, those that are still reading, I have made my first MMA blocks using Neil Hand's method and the blocks are brown in color. Is this normal? His method uses N,N Dimethylaniline to initiate the polymerization and I am assuming this is causing the color. I just wanted to check and make sure I am doing this correctly. There is no text book to check for this that I know of. Neil's embedding mixture: 15 ml MMA monomer, 5 ml DBP, 5% dried benzoyl peroxide (1 gm) +125 ul of N,N Dimethylaniline.
Thanks for any reply,
