If by steam HIER, you mean antigen retrieval, I can help you.  We use a
Black & Decker steamer for most of our AR methods.  We preheat the
steamer for 15 minutes (it takes about 15 minutes to come up to a temp of
about 100C).  We microwave our AR solution (vector or DAKO, depending on
the protein we are staining for) for about 5 minutes on high.  Then the
preheated AR solution is placed into regular plastic slide holders and
staining buckets (we have ones from Tissue Tek, but probably any would be
fine as long as they can withstand the heat).  We then steam the slides
for 45 minutes to 1 hour.  It works great!
