Hi Penny,
After few minor (fortunately) accidents, carpet runners were installed
on all the floor aisles in histology and the hallway outside. They get
vacuumed frequently by housekeeping staff. The carpet around embedding
units and microtomes gets replaced every few years, since paraffin gets
embedded in the carpet in those areas.
