Position #1 * Histologist:  Wyeth-Ayerst Research has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic individual to perform routine histology, cryosectioning, and other specialized techniques in support of discovery research at our Andover, Massachusetts site.  The selected Scientist II candidate will work in a state-of-the-art investigative pathology laboratory, which provides opportunities to expand both scientific and technical skills.  Primary responsibilities will include specimen handling, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for analysis by our in-house pathologist.  Ability to use, maintain, and troubleshoot standard lab equipment and procedures is required.  Requirements: BA/BS or MS degree in biology or other life-science field with a minimum of 4 years industrial or academic experience.  Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to work in a team are crucial for consideration. Capacity to communicate scientific results in electronic graphic and written formats preferred. HTL certification and experience in immunohistochemistry highly desirable. Position #2 * In Situ Hybridization/Immunohistochemistry:  Wyeth-Ayerst Research has an immediate opening for a motivated scientist with extensive experience in in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy at our Andover, Massachusetts site. The successful Research Scientist II candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of new technologies in the field of experimental pathology, specifically in the area of molecular morphology, and will interact with investigators to solve a wide range of project needs. Requirements: BA/BS or MS degree in biology or other life-science field with at least 6 years of industrial or academic experience. The position requires independent thinking and execution of techniques, strong technical and scientific expertise, the ability to meet deadlines, and the capacity to communicate scientific results in electronic pictorial, graphic, written, and oral formats. Experience with electronic image capture, image analysis, and confocal microscopy a plus.
