GMA and xylene

It is best to coverslip "dry" sections.  Extended exposure to xylene will
cause the flaking or dry lakebed appearance.  In fact, air drying after a
short exposure to alcohols is even better, do not dehydrate GMA sections
like paraffin, the GMA will crack.  Plastics dislike xylene, and it is not
necessary to clear the section before coverslipping, been there, done that
and had cracked looking plastic.
