In my excitement regarding eosin I didn't mention that my recipe is
simply 1% aqueous eosin (yellowish). I use tap water straight from Loch
Katrine, the softest Mother Nature bestowed on the the planet. Organic/Eco
staining - nothing added, apart from the thymol. Being in a research lab
the stain may sit on the shelf for several months before being replaced.
