Took 1 ml disposable glass serological pipettes, used a glue gun, and glued
them to slide mailers (square one, not tapered) with just the right
distance between pipettes to hold slide, and elevate slides above a
waterproof surface, put paper towels underneath, wet.

slides, up to 8 or 10 (when clever, and not touching each other) put on
rack, and then INVERTED a large clear plastic container over top, or
a large shoe box, same clear plastic, but make sure it fits over ends
of racks. Never had to reach inside a box this way, box was over the top
rather than on the bottom.

If the racks break, glue gun comes out, repaired, cheap, could stain
30 or more slides at a time, since you can carefully tip the rack
and or easily pick up slides. Helped arthritic fingers, increased
capacity, then we bought Shandon coverplate holders, life was even sweeter.

Histotechs are the cleverest, most innovative people in the world!
Have enjoyed reading what others have done to make labor intensive work
easier. Kudos!
