We had to eliminate sulfuric acid/potassium dichromate (chromates are an
EPA no no). Good bleach, full strength often works, followed by a good
lab glassware detergent and if all else fails, have use 25% nitric acid
soak (just fill container, let it stand) to get rid of silver mirror and
or ppts. Just be sure to rinse very well, and final rinse with deionized
water. Use gloves and a fume hood. We always rinse with deionized water,
just to keep tap water contaminants out of loop.
