We have a tech coming in at midnight to embed and start cutting the biopsies which are processed on a 4 hour protocol. Then another tech arrives at 4:30 am to join in either coverslipping slides or cutting more blocks while the first tech then starts embedding the regular blocks processed on a 9 hour protocol. Two more techs arrive at 6:30 am. A 4th tech arrives at 8:30 and the first tech leaves about that time. We also have 2 assistants who come in at 6:00 am and 7:30 am. They rotate between accessioning specimens and assisting at the grossing bench or coverslipping and labeling slides. The tech arrriving at 8:30 then stays until 5:00 pm to assist the PA in the grossing, starting processors and clean-up.
