Paraffin embedding and immunocytochemistry

Considering that paraffin embedding of tissues involves temperatures of 60
degrees C and deparaffinization protocols employ xylenes, I am afraid that
those procedures may result in denatured epitopes and shrunken cells that
could compromise immunocytochemical results.  
I am interested in information regarding the effect of paraffin embedding
conditions on immunocytochemistry.  Thanks for your help,
