RE: [Histonet] Supervisor question

From:"Jasper, Thomas G."

To my knowledge the answer is determined by the employer. While I believe it is a good idea for supervisors to be certified I'm certain all are not. Depending on the individual (as well as the place of employment) it could work out all right or it might not. I think a non-certified supervisor should have a very good understanding of histology in order to be effective.
Unfortunately, I've run into certified supervisors which weren't so hot, so at times the reverse must be true. Also, a certified tech with good skills doesn't always translate into a competent supervisor.
