I am the anatomic pathology manager and lab safety officer and 
have one tech with a severe ganglion due to repetitive motion injury. As part of replacing old microtomes we went to automated for all techs and have seen less hand and neck stress.
also we have an automated stainer for specials, ihc and H&E and a fully automated coverslipper, so the amount of any repetive motion is minimal.
