Embedding and adhesion problems.

From:Bill Sinai

Lorraine,

I agree with all that Ross Stapf has mentioned.  We embedded from wax for many years and then changed to no wax with little problems.  The secret is to have the block storage area a little hotter than when filled with wax and to keep the lid closed as often as possible.

Sections floating with anystain are usually a good indication of not enough TIME in the oven.  We also use an oven with a fan to move the air and dry routine slides for 15min at 60C,  immunoperoxidase for 30mins minimum at 60C.  We have been using Superfrost Plus slides for the last 15 years. To help alleviate this problem.

All the best
