Second request high profile knife sliding adapter Cryocut 1800

From:Gayle Callis

HELP! This is a second request for a Leica Cryocut high profile knife
sliding holder/adapter for older model Leica Cryocut 1800. I'm looking for
a SMOOTH steel metal adapter. The new one just purchased is painfully
useless, it seems to made of a different metal than my original, the new
one seems to be aluminum?? rather than steel. It seems thicker (dial
caliper will be checking that!) and also tried polishing, grinding, and
oiling this rough surface to get it to slide to no avail. It binds up no
matter what I have tried. The new one is getting more grinding/polishing -
thank heavens for undecalcified bone grinding capabilities.

I get the impression they changed the specifications/materials for making
this item, ho hum as to why?

If anyone has a high profile sliding adapter floating around that they
never use/dislike because it is high profile/extra - I would love to access
it from you! HMMMM I may take a second low profile adapter to a machinist
and have him grind/shape to high profile specs IF I can't find one.
